Wavecrest is a unique oceanfront community made up of individually owned condominiums, with owners who live on-site for part or all of the year, as well as owners who rent their private units to guests for short- or long-term stays. Because each condo is privately owned, all rentals are handled directly by the individual owners. While there is no central rental desk, we’re happy to share general information, recommendations, and guidance about the resort and island—and you’re always welcome to reach out through the Contact Us box on this website.

Getting to Molokaʻi

Getting to Molokaʻi is part of the island experience. Visitors connect through Honolulu or Maui and take a short Mokulele Airlines flight from Honolulu (HNL) or Kahului (OGG) to Molokaʻi (MKK). These smaller aircraft fly lower and at a relaxed pace, offering scenic aerial views. There are no direct flights to Molokaʻi from outside Hawaiʻi.

Getting Around Molokaʻi

Molokaʻi Airport (MKK) is located approximately 19 miles from Wavecrest Resort. Once on Molokaʻi, renting a car is essential for getting around and exploring the island. Alamo Car Rental, Molokai Outdoor Activities, and Turo are among the options available for car rentals on Molokaʻi. For guests who do not rent a car, transportation services such as Hele Mai Taxi are available. Wavecrest Resort does not provide airport transportation, and due to limited availability, reserving transportation in advance is strongly recommended.

What to Know Before You Arrive

Wavecrest Resort does not have a traditional front desk, helping preserve its relaxed, island-style atmosphere. Guests will receive check-in instructions directly from their rental owner or property manager before arrival. When you first arrive on property, we kindly ask that you stop at the front office to sign in. Wavecrest features an open-air design with no elevators or air conditioning, allowing you to enjoy the natural island breezes and the peaceful Molokaʻi setting.
